War Games - Ultimate Gaming

You might be living in a box if you haven't yet heard about the game series that has hooked people from all continents, Mafia Wars. It is a virtual war game played on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace. This is not the only game of its kind. These days the cyber world is cramped with online games since the majority of the world's population is turning to the internet for its recreational activities. And among these, war games have a major hand since their popularity has been existing for a long time.

Ask anyone who is in their twenties and you will find that some of the first games they were exposed to were war games. From games like combat and prince of Persia to the latest series of call of duty and the lord of the rings, we are surrounded by war games. But there have been a lot of arguments on this particular fact.

Many of the parents, who feel that their kids should not be playing with guns and war strategies, are still opposing that idea.

They are of the opinion that such games can have a negative impact on the kids playing them. Whereas there are a lot many who disagree with this claim. And even their argument is quite strong. It is not a toy gun that makes a person a killer. If a person is destined to be a criminal, no matter what games he has played or not, he will ultimately become only that.

But there is a hope of silver lining for those who claim that internet games will stagnate people's lives in front of the computers. The happy news is that there are a few social groups in some localities who after getting inspired by the war games on internet, have started playing such games among themselves- without a computer. At least this is a physical form of gaming.

War games have been existent since time immemorial. Be it in the physical form or the virtual form. You can't run away from it whether you like it or not. So why not enjoy it?
