Best Baby Shower Games - What Games Can You Play at Your Next Baby Shower? Part 1

Everybody knows that games make any party fun. And Baby Showers are no exception. As the baby shower hostess, you are trying to find the perfect games to break the ice and hopefully get in some good belly laughs (no pun intended for Mom-to-Be).

Figuring out which games to play at a baby shower is sometimes a hard decision, but there are a few things to keep in mind before choosing them:

1. Number of guests - some games are better suited for smaller or larger crowds

2. Personalities of the guests - believe me, there are some people who do not enjoy playing games

3. Time constraints - determine if you have time or one or more games; also some showers are set up to have guests drop in and out at their convenience, so games may not be a good idea

4. The supplies you'll need - paper and pens are almost always needed; some require you to purchase items or have them on hand

5. The location of the shower - noisy locations, such as restaurants, may not be suitable for game-playing; also look at the amount of space and seating arrangements so you can determine which games are appropriate

Here are just a few Baby Shower Game Ideas!

Mystery Baby Food Tasting- Buy several jars of baby food and cover the labels. Have each guest smell and taste the food and write down what they think it is. You can pass around one jar at a time or number the jars and have them all going around in different directions at once. You can also provide hints or write down all of the answers in random order if the flavors are too similar. The one with the most correct answers wins.

Baby Songs - Record a CD with songs with the word "BABY" in it (for example, BABY LOVE-DIANA ROSS AND THE SUPREMES.) Play the music during the shower. Turn the music off towards the end of the shower and ask your guests to list all the songs by artist and title. The person who list the most songs WINS. its so much fun to watch, because during the shower everyone is just singing along;now a couple of hours later they can't re-call not one song.

Mystery Baby Diaper Tasting- Buy several different types of candy bars, melt each one, and put them in separate diapers. Have guests taste and smell the diaper and write down their answers. The one with the most correct answers wins.

Baby Bottle Drinking Race - Fill several baby bottles (maybe one for each guest?) with your beverage of choice and have a race to see who drinks the whole bottle through the nipple first. I've heard you can do this with couples showers and fill the bottles with beer for the guys to drink.

Can't Say "Baby" - At the beginning of the shower give each guest 1 or 2 baby pins or clothes pins to pin to their shirt. If someone is caught saying the word "baby" by another guest, she must forfeit a pin to the guest who caught her. You can use this for other words, like "cute" or "precious". The one with the most pins at the end of the shower wins.

Baby Shower BINGO - There are several ways to play this. You can make blank cards with BINGO or STORK across the top. Have the guests write down in the squares the gifts that they think will be opened later. When one of those gifts is opened, the guest marks that spot. Whoever gets 5 marks in a row wins. You could also already have these cards filled out in a random fashion.
