Because of a swarm of unverified rumors hovering around the iPad 2, there was some understandable skepticism when news came out that Apple might possibly be having a March 2 event to unveil the iPad 2. Kara Swisher at All Things Digital broke the story, citing unnamed sources, and at first glance it seemed like it might just be more empty speculation. That wasn’t the case, however, as invitations have just been sent to the media confirming that there will be an event, it will be on March 2nd in San Francisco at 10:00 AM Pacific, and it will focus primarily/exclusively on the next iPad.This event is being held surprisingly close to Apple’s February 24th MacBook Pro launch, which was supposed to be the major announcement of the moment for Apple. However, in the face of reports that workers are being negatively affected by toxic chemicals at Apple manufacturing plants, and rumors of delays on the iPad 2 production line (the combination of these stories dropping Apple’s stock 2.7%), it’s understandable that the company would want to quell the negative publicity in favor of some iPad 2 hype.Related Articles:
