Retirement Computer Games - Casual Gaming For Us!

Believe it or not, one of the hottest markets for video games is not teens or young men, it's us retirees!

Who would have thought that active adults would be participants in the video game revolution...? One of the growth areas in video gaming is what they call "casual games", i.e. PC-based games that we non-gamers can pick up in just minutes and play with the simplest equipment.

The emphasis in casual gaming is on fun, rather than realistic, graphics. As opposed to violence, casual games are family friendly. Some are old favorites like Pac Man and poker. Games previously played with pencil and paper like Soduku are online now, and there are plenty of new strategy and mystery games geared towards us.

Broadband internet makes it possible to have a great gaming experience online. You can buy a game online for about $20. Often you can try before you buy. You can also visit the portals such as Yahoo Games, pogo.com, MSN Games and WildTangent for a wide variety of casual games. Look for new things to come from breakthrough sights like iWin.com, and MostFun.com.

If you'd like to combine a little exercise with your gaming, invest in a Nintendo Wii. You'll need a console but can get a nice little workout from Nintendo's sports games. It's a great activity for groups of friends and family get-togethers. Next thing you know they'll be putting skateboard parks in retirement communities. After all, we're young at heart!

Valentines Games - 6 Games Everyone Will Love

Looking for fun Valentine's Day games? Do you want them to be fun, but also clean? Look no further - below are listed 6 of the best Valentine's Day games ever! These games are perfect for any setting: for a large group Valentine's Day party, for teenagers or college students, married couples and even for families and kids. Enjoy!

1) Do You Know Your Partner: Everyone playing will be paired up with their Valentine (or any partner). In preparation, write down 10-15 questions that you will ask to the whole group. Examples of some questions might be: what is your partner's favorite food, movie, song, color, etc. Or, where did we go on our first date, what day did we get engaged, where were we for our first kiss, etc. Think of any type of question. Then, ask each question to the whole group, and each partner will answer (write down on a paper without partner seeing) what they think their partner will answer. Everyone will reveal what they wrote down, and the pair that gets the most right wins (and has to kiss)!

2) Romantic Drawing Charades: In preparation, give each player 3 slips of paper. On each paper, players will write down one Valentines related word or scenario. Examples might be: kiss, hug, candlelight dinner, heart throbbing, lips, bouquet of roses, box of chocolates, etc. Place all the slips in a bowl, and divide the group into two teams. One person from each team will come up and draw one slip out together. They then will, at 'go,' have to draw what was on the slip for their team on a piece of paper. No talking allowed by the drawer. The first team to guess correctly what it is receives a point. Send another drawer up and this repeats until one team scores 15 points and wins!

3) V.A.L.E.N.T.I.N.E Scavenger Hunt: This scavenger hunt requires a car, digital camera (or cell phone camera), and a paper/pen for each team. Divide everyone playing into teams of three people each. The goal is to go out into the city and find one Valentine related item for each letter of the word V.A.L.E.N.T.I.N.E., and take a picture of it. For example, you might find a Vase for V, or the word 'Love' for L, etc. Teams will take a picture of the item found for each corresponding letter. The first team back with a correct picture for each letter is the winner!

4) Back to Back Guessing: In preparation, gather about 30-40 random objects from around the house. Examples might be: a paper clip, spatula, bowl, cell phone, book, picture frame, pen, flag, etc. Everyone will be divided up into pairs or couples. One couple will go to the center where they will be two chairs, back to back, and the couples will sit facing away from each other. One partner will be given a random object and their goal is to describe it to their partner as quickly as possible to score points. But, only one word can be said at a time, no saying the word (or any part) of the actual word/object, and no forming sentences in your description. So, if the object was a picture frame - the person describing might say: photo, borders, look, sides, memories, etc. The partner is limited to only 3 guesses. If the partner guesses correctly in the first 5 guesses, they get 3 points. If the partner guesses in the next 5 guesses, it is worth 2 points, and if in the next 5 guesses it is worth 1 point, otherwise their turn is done. The next couple comes up and receives a new object. The first team to score 20 points wins.

5) 'I Love You' Game: Those playing will sit in a circle, and everyone will start by covering their teeth with their lips. The object of the game is to keep your teeth covered for the entire game! If at any point someone's teeth do show while talking or laughing, that person receives a strike. After the second strike, a player is eliminated from the game! Someone will start by turning to the person on their left and saying: "Hello, my name is _______, and I love you so much because you are _________." They will fill in the blanks with their name and with whatever they want for the second part of the sentence. The goal, of course, is to get your neighbor to laugh so that they will show their teeth, but while doing so, not laugh yourself! Then, the person who was asked the question will have to respond by saying: "Thanks ________, I love you too." They will fill in the blank with the person's name before them, and turn to the next person and also say: "Hello, my name ..." (repeat). It is important to note, however, that even those not participating in the question/answer part still must keep their teeth covered. Thus, a person receives a strike if their teeth show while talking or laughing, or if someone is laughing so hard that they don't respond to a question within 5 seconds. As the game continues, players will receive 2 strikes and be eliminated, and the person who keeps their teeth covered the longest is the winner!

6) Heart Attack: This is not so much a game as it is a very meaningful and fun activity. Identify someone special to say 'thank you' or 'I love you' to. Make many cards in the shape of a heart, and on those cards write kind things as to why you love or appreciate them. Then, take the cards and decorate their yard, front door, bedroom, etc.

Customizable Flash Games - Rebranding Games For Traffic Or Profit

There is no doubting the rise in popularity of Flash games in recent years, or their use to website owners as a way of increasing traffic and visitor loyalty. Flash games not only attract visitors to a site, they get them coming back time and time again, but more importantly they also get those visitors promoting the site themselves. From sharing games on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, to embedding the game directly into their own sites and blogs, the power of using visitors to promote games virally shouldn't be underestimated.

Until recently there were essentially 2 ways of acquiring new Flash games. They could either be developed in house by a competent Flash developer, or they could be outsourced. Both methods are expensive and time consuming, but now there is a third approach. By using pre-made, customizable Flash games it's possible to have new branded games added to a site within hours, not weeks.

Customizable Flash games can be rebranded with your own links and logos. That means you can allow your visitors to embed the game into their own sites and blogs, and each time they do you get extra exposure for your brand and site, and extra backlinks which help your search engine rankings.

Apart from customizing the games by changing the logos and links, you can also make changes to the way the games look and play. Whether you simply want to change the color scheme to match you site, or change an in-game character for your own mascot, or even make changes to the gameplay itself, any changes you make will be much faster to implement than building games from scratch.

You can even make money directly by rebranding games for your clients. Simply add your client's logo and links to the games and sell them the SWF game files which they can add to their own site, or give away freely to their own customers. In fact, the possibilities for increasing your profits with customizable Flash games are only limited by your own imagination.
